Disk encryption using BitLocker

To encrypt a disk using BitLocker:

1. Open the Control panel. Select BitLocker Disk Encryption.
2. In the section Removable carrier click Enable BitLocker.
3. The disk initialization process will start, wait for it to finish.
4. Check the box Use a smart card to unlock the disk and click on the Next button.
5. Set the parameters for archiving the recovery key (for example, saving to a file).
6. Specify the path to the recovery key file, the file name, and click Save.
7. After saving, click on the Next button. 
8. Specify the encryption area and click on the Next button. 
9. Click on the Start encryption. The encryption process will start, wait for the end of the process.
